Rep. Gina McCabe to hold community roundtable Jan. 8 in Goldendale

Rep. Gina McCabe, R-Goldendale, will be hosting a non-partisan round-table conversation for residents of the 14th District in advance of her returning to Olympia for the 2016 legislative session. The Goldendale Sentinel will sponsor the event.

When: Friday, Jan. 8, 6-8 p.m.
Where: Quality Inn & Suites
808 E Simcoe Drive
Goldendale, WA 98620

“This is a great opportunity for me to hear directly from people in the Fourteenth District, and I encourage everyone who can make it to take part in this community conversation,” said McCabe. “There's a lot to cover this upcoming legislative session – from education funding to wildfire recovery, and caring for and empowering those with disabilities and seniors – and I look forward to hearing thoughts on the issues facing our district and state.”

In addition to listening to constituents and sharing her priorities for the approaching legislative session, McCabe will also take time to discuss her sponsored legislation. This includes Erin's Law, which relates to public schools implementing an age-appropriate, prevention-oriented child sexual-abuse and awareness program. So far, 26 states have passed similar legislation, and it is pending in others.

For questions or further details about the roundtable, contact McCabe's office by calling (360) 786-7856 or sending an email to gina.mccabe@leg.wa.gov.

The 2016 legislative session is scheduled to begin Jan. 11.
