McCabe chosen to participate in ’emerging leaders’ program

The State Legislative Leaders Foundation (SLLF) selected Rep. Gina McCabe, R-Goldendale, to participate in the 2016 Emerging Leaders Program in July. McCabe will be part of an exclusive group of 50 legislators from across the U.S. to participate in the program.

“To be recognized as an emerging leader in Washington state is an honor, and I look forward to the challenging, productive conversations to be had during this renowned program,” said McCabe. “The key to being an effective lawmaker really is no secret — it's listening to those you represent and being their advocate. My success as a state representative has been dependent on engaged, dedicated residents of the Fourteenth District.”

During the program, lawmakers participate in classroom discussions to learn from each other's diverse perspectives. The program, which is held in partnership with the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, seeks to encourage continued public service. Nominated legislators are offered full scholarships to attend.

SLLF is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that provides professional development opportunities to lawmakers.

The program will take place July 11-14.
