Rep. McCabe to host USDA Rural Development sessions in Columbia River Gorge

Rep. Gina McCabe, along with representatives from the United States Department of Agriculture's regional office in Yakima, will be hosting USDA Rural Development listening sessions at two locations in the Columbia River Gorge June 28.

USDA Rural Development provides loan and grant programs for economic development, housing, health care, and other essential services in rural areas throughout the US.

“It's important our rural communities feel empowered with knowledge about the various programs and assistance available to them,” said McCabe, R-Goldendale. “These sessions will serve as an opportunity for community leaders and the public to ask questions and be active participants in growing their communities.”

The session details are as follows:

White Salmon, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Pioneer Center
501 NE Washington Street

Goldendale, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The new Grange Hall
228 E. Darland Drive

“USDA Rural Development is very pleased to partner with Representative Gina McCabe in offering these County Listening Sessions,” said Mario Villanueva, Washington State Director of USDA Rural Development. “It is precisely in these local sessions that USDA Rural Development is best able to share our full array of rural Community and Economic Development resources.”

The sessions are free, and all are encouraged to attend. Those interested can RSVP to Roni Baer at
